Runner’s World is an American running magazine. It is published by Rodale Inc. and was founded in 1966. The magazine is targeted to runners of all levels of ability, from beginner to professional.

The magazine covers all aspects of the sport, from training and nutrition to competitive running and personal stories. In addition to the monthly magazine, Runner’s World publishes an annual marathon guide, books on running, and a training DVD series.

The magazine has a paid circulation of approximately 500,000 and is available in 29 countries. The headquarters is in Emmaus, Pennsylvania.

Runner’s World was founded by Bob Anderson and Bill Bowerman. Anderson was a runner who was looking for a more serious running magazine. At the time, there were only a few running magazines, most of which were aimed at beginners.

Bowerman was the head track coach at the University of Oregon and had a reputation as a innovator in the sport of running. He is credited with developing the modern running shoe and with creating the first running camp.

The two men met in 1966 and decided to start a new running magazine. They named it Runner’s World and published the first issue in October of that year.

The early years of Runner’s World were difficult. The magazine was not profitable and nearly went out of business several times. In the 1970s, however, the popularity of running began to grow and Runner’s World benefited from the trend.

The magazine has been published continuously since 1966. It is now one of the most popular running magazines in the world.
